The Approach:
I worked with the district to adapt the scavenger hunt and playing card model into an educational experience focused on local history and civic awareness. The project was designed to be accessible to all students while still encouraging exploration, problem-solving, and community connection. Custom playing card decks were produced and distributed as part of the learning experience, allowing students to engage with local history in a tangible and interactive way.
The Impact:
All 2,000 students in the Midd-West School District received a free deck of educational playing cards, which were incorporated into classroom learning. An additional 1,000 decks were provided to the local Boy Scouts, who sold them to the community and raised more than $8,000 toward a memorial project to repair the roof of a local soldiers’ memorial. The partnership demonstrated how experiential marketing models can be adapted for education, community fundraising, and civic engagement at scale.
Conclusion:
This project highlights my ability to collaborate with educational institutions, adapt marketing systems for learning environments, and deliver large-scale initiatives with measurable community impact. It reinforces my experience working with diverse stakeholders while designing programs that serve both educational and civic goals.
